Why Andalucia?

Andalucia, the largest and southern most region of Spain, is probably one of the best known regions of Spain as this dry, mountainous region embraces some towns and villages familiar to many Europeans – such as Marbella, Estepona, Casares and Sotogrande.

However it is the variety of facilities and activities available which is not so widely considered when the region is mentioned. The following is just a selection of the activities available to be booked as part of group outings with Colby Events.

  • Golf – Internationally renowned courses such as Valderrama, San Roque and Dona Julia are within easy reach of all the hotels.
  • Polo – The sport of Kings but here you can learn how to play! Based in Sotogrande.
  • Watersports – Waterskiing, jetskiing and sailing all along the coast, white water rafting near Marbella, and windsurfing and kitesurfing in Tarifa.
  • Clay-pigeon shooting – At the Marbella Gun and Country Club - also one of the best places to watch the beautiful Spanish sunsets.
  • Yacht charter – For half days or full days on the sea, also with the opportunity to learn to sail it yourself.
  • Luxury car rental – Ferraris and Porsches available each day, ideal reward for your top sales performers.
  • Andalucian cookery – Learn to cook true Spanish dishes, in teams or on your own.
  • Skiing is just 2 hours from the coast in the Sierra Nevada.
  • Health and Spa – Many luxury facilities along the coast.
  • Visit traditional Spanish towns – Historic towns and villages such as Ronda, Casares, Benahavis or Monda.

The hotels are first class and fully equipped for modern-day business requirements. Colby Events uses some of the larger hotels in the region where appropriate, such as the Crowne Plaza Estepona and The Guadalpin, Marbella but of course there are also a number of smaller, boutique hotels which we will recommend - often booking the whole facility - if it is more suitable for your business objectives.

Andalucia is one of the warmest regions in Europe and has a temperate, Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters. It is this climate which helps to make the region such an attractive location for businesses to hold their key events throughout the year.

Transport to the region is extremely straight-forward. The area is well served by Malaga, Gibraltar, Granada and Jerez airports, with numerous daily flights available. Travel to Andalucia is often easier than to many parts of the UK..!

Andalucia is truly prepared to welcome you to help your business succeed for the future – and Colby Events look forward to playing its part too…!!
